Oakwood Cleaners was founded in 1989 and began exclusively using GreenEarth in 2001. Alan and Rhonda Wernick became the new owners in April of 2011. “We believe the most important thing we have accomplished since becoming owners, is to develop standardized operational practices, providing exceptional customer service while delivering a superior service. Our pickup and delivery service provides an extraordinary convenience to our customers and allows us to service a much greater population than our two locations could attract on their own.”
Oakwood Cleaners is a 5-star Couture Cleaners as well as a member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists. We love that we can boast about using GreenEarth and how it is eco-friendly, odorless and good for our customers clothing and households. Not only can we take care of couture specialty items and wedding gowns, but we can offer a dry-cleaning option for those individuals that are allergic or hyper-sensitive to the smell and chemicals in other dry-cleaning solvents.
Our son, Aubrey Wernick, who now shares ownership with us, has become an expert in the use of GreenEarth as well as a well-respected spotter. We actually have area dry cleaners sending customers to us on occasion! Our production staff is bar none, and the majority have been with the company for over 5 years some beyond 15 years.

Standard service is 4 business days from pickup to delivery. For example, items collected on Monday are typically returned on Thursday. Please note that faster turnarounds (such as a 2-day rush option) are available for select everyday garments only and must be dropped off in-store.

No, we do not offer same-day service. Our detailed 5-step quality control process requires adequate time to ensure proper inspection, cleaning, and verification.
How does your pickup and delivery service work?
After creating an account online, you will be notified from a representative to complete it and be assigned your pick up and delivery days. Our driver collects items from your designated location, where they will be processed at our facility with a 4-business day turnaround. Your items will be returned to the same location. You will receive notification of delivery and can track your order online. This service is complimentary within our service area.

Traditional dry cleaning uses perchloroethylene (perc) , a petroleum-based solvent that can leave chemical odors and may be harsh on delicate fabrics. GreenEarth® uses liquid silicone, which is non-toxic, biodegradable, and odorless. The gentler formula extends garment life, requires no airing out, and is hypoallergenic for people with sensitive skin. The cleaning effectiveness is equal or superior while being safer for you and the environment.
What is your satisfaction policy?
We guarantee your satisfaction with our service. If you're not completely satisfied with any cleaned item, bring it back within 7 days and we'll re-clean it at no charge. If the issue persists, we'll work with you to find an appropriate resolution. Q: How do you handle wedding dress preservation? As Certified Wedding Gown Specialists™, we use museum-quality preservation techniques. The process includes thorough cleaning to remove all visible and invisible stains (like perspiration and champagne) , pHneutral processing, acid-free tissue and packaging, and museum-quality, archival storage chests. We include a lifetime guarantee against yellowing when stored according to our care instructions. The guarantee is honored by any member of the Association of Wedding Gown Specialists. The preservation process takes approximately 2-3 weeks after cleaning is complete.
What areas do you service for pickup and delivery?
We provide free pickup and delivery throughout Greater Nashville, Hermitage, and many surrounding communities. Service frequency is typically twice weekly, though this may vary by location. Please contact us directly to confirm pickup and delivery times.
Can you remove all stains?
While we have high success rates with stain removal, some factors affect results. The
type of stain, how long it has set, previous treatment attempts, and fabric type all play roles. Some stain removal will incur additional charges. If a stain proves permanent, we'll inform you and discuss options before completing the order. Q: How should I prepare items for pickup? Empty all pockets and remove any pins or loose items. If you know about specific stains, you can attach a note describing them (this helps our specialists). Otherwise, our inspection process will identify issues. Don't attempt home stain removal, as some products
can set stains permanently.
Do you clean leather and suede?
Yes, we work with a leather specialist. These materials require different solvents and techniques than standard dry cleaning. We also provide conditioning treatments that help maintain the material's natural oils and prevent cracking.
